| synopsis = After a monologue from an unknown narrator about the meaning of small creatures in the world and the inevitability of change, Ayane and Maya are returning to the hotel after a fruitless search.

Ayane is surprised by the sheer amount of stuff Maya manged to hide at school, and while Maya assumes the universe just allows her to be an exception, Ayane isn't so sure about her theory given how her Maya got things wrong as well. She quickly gets tired of the following philosophical talk and just wants to get some rest, though Maya suggests they should head to the dorms for that instead of the hotel, even agreeing to spend the night with her as she's the only friend she has right now.
Ayane appreciates her being with her, and Maya admits she enjoys her company and assumes her old self did so as well even if she didn't show it, but she retracts her statement when Ayane suggests they should sleep close together. Ayane admits she was only joking and knows that Ami is the only one she's attached to, but this isn't the case in this timeline due to how much attention Ami gets from Sensei. They were close during the last loop, though, and Ayane recalls how her Maya and Ami started to grow apart during the last one and how Ami became completely unhinged in the current one. Maya makes sure they didn't tell Ami about the reset, and Ayane promises they didn't, especially after she heard how dangerous Ami can be, so Maya has no idea what caused Ami's change.
Suddenly, Yumi calls out to them, and Maya realizes she's aware of the reset, whereas Ayane quickly confirms that she's the Yumi from her timeline. Ayane is surprised to see that Yumi actually made it through a reset, and Maya takes the opportunity to test if the last theory of her old self is still valid, but it isn't. Maya assumes love is a deciding factor, but quickly drops that theory when she remembers that Sensei wasn't send with them. Yumi suggests that kissing might be a potential factor, indirectly admitting she already did it, which comes as a shock to Ayane since it means that even girls she perceived as nonthreatening might make their moves now. Maya drops another bombshell by revealing what she already did with the entire class, which annoys Yumi since she already had to go through something similar recently, and Ayane knows her Yumi isn't anywhere near this close with Sensei yet, something she got confirmation on, though she can't remember how she confirmed it.
Yumi ignores this and brings ups something more relevant – She learned from her cousin that a reset is occurring this night. Maya doesn't want to believe it since she didn't feel one coming, but Ayane doesn't see it as meaningful since her Maya didn't feel the last reset either. While Ayane would like to know why Kaori of all people is aware of them, she decides to save it for later as they need to get to the rooftop, but Maya says she needs to get something and tells them to go without her, and while she promises to be there, both Yumi and Ayane know she was lying.
While on their way to school, Ayane intends to get back to her world so she can be reunited with the people she loves, and while Yumi is unsure if she wants to return given how Chika has changed in weird ways and feels like this world might be better for her, Ayane suggests that if there's something she's potentially looking forward to in their world, she should return home with her and leave behind the lives they're currently inhabiting.
