Rin Affection Rin Affection
This Event takes place in the following locations:
Sensei and Rin take a walk, and she reprimands him for how things turned out for the cafe, but the conversation quickly turns as Rin makes a comment that makes him reveal that he knows about her listening in on him and Sana during the last Halloween party. Seeing how turbulent their lives got, she wishes to go back to the time when he only had close relationships with two girls, and when he wants to know how many of his relationships she knows of, she tells him that she suspects he has one with everyone, but can only confirm five, namely Chika, Futaba, Sana, Nodoka and Haruka, with him adding Ayane, Makoto and Kirin to her list.
She's surprised how comfortable he is with letting her know about this, and he states he can do so because he can trust her with his secrets, though when she reminds him how she already let something slip, he specifically meant this in regards to Chika, admitting how he has ignored her as of late. Both talk about Sensei's relationships and the relationship between them a bit longer, until Rin asks for his phone, since she forgot hers in her dorm room, so she can call Chika and inform her they can meet up now.
While searching for Chika's number in his phone, Rin notices Otoha's number in his contacts and, due to her own curiosity, checks out their messages, finding out that he received a pictures of herself from Otoha. After the initial shock has passed, she confronts him about this, and he explains how he got it. Disappointed and hurt yet also surprisingly calm, she reprimands him for getting one of her pictures behind her back, wondering if this was his way of getting back at her for starting a relationship with Otoha, but he says how this was a spontaneous decision, knowing and accepting that it would hurt one of the girls that means a lot to him.
Rin points out how he could get in trouble for this, and when Sensei promises to do anything to make it up to her, she demands a picture of him in exchange for hers, effectively giving her some level of control in their current dynamic. She also learns that he never traded pictures with anyone else, only receiving them until now. He wants to know if this is really enough for her to forgive him since this seems like an easy exit out of the mess he created, and Rin reminds him that they're friends and, therefore, making things even between them is all she needs for him to make amends. She also promises that she won't abuse that picture for other purposes, but both know that it's a hollow promise.
Seeing that both of them are in sync in regards to their feelings, especially after revealing how they felt when he accidentally walked in on her, they wonder why they haven't advanced their relationship yet, and while Rin admits that she wants to, she also doesn't want to hurt the feelings of the other girls and thinks they should wait until both have reached a point where they are forced to make a decision.
With the situation ending favorably for both parties, they go their separate ways, with Sensei sending her a picture that evening.
