At the Maid Cafe, Ami apologizes to her colleagues for being away for so long and threatening the class. While Chika is not thrilled by her apology, musing at how they should have replaced her, Uta and Osako are both fine with Ami coming back. Ami offers to do anything to make it up to them, except for giving over Sensei when Chika demands that he will look over him from now on, and Uta calls Chika out for her treatment of her senior maid, even if she managed to become more popular.
Ami wants to know how that happened, and while Chika claims that it's as simple as her being superior to her, Uta states it's just a question of filling character niches – Chika being half-Filipino and a former gyaru gives her two unique niches, whereas Ami sucked as a tsundere maid and only managed to be a cute maid, a niche completely dominated by Uta, that stuck out a bit due to her twintails, which she no longer has. Ami wants to know what she's supposed to do now, since she also can't be a boyish maid due to Osako dominating that niche, and Uta, ignoring Chika's snarky comment, believes they can find a new niche unique to her in due time.
Uta sends Osako and Chika out to start their shift and takes a seat with Ami under the pretence of explaining what changed at the café while she was gone. While both talk about everything that happened recently, she confronts Ami about her picture on Sensei's phone. Ami admits she completely forgot about that and, after failing to change the subject, promises to be honest with her. Uta has a lot of questions, but only needs her to answer one – What kind of girl does Ami think Uta is after learning about those pictures. Uta assumes Ami sees her as a needy, naughty girl and, when Ami fails to answer, confesses she is one. She further explains why she sent those pictures, how they made her feel wanted and pretty, and how the harassment she experienced through them was the real reason she moved to Kumon-mi.
Uta asks Ami if they can still be friends, even if pictures alone end up not being enough for Sensei one day. Ami answers that she has known of Sensei's preferences for some time and how she wanted him to desire her. She moves closer to Uta, placing a hand on her cheek, and confesses how she's jealous of the attention Uta gets from him and how she always found her perfect. Uta gets nervous and denies what Ami is saying, telling her she isn't even close to perfect. She also asks what she would do when she confronts Sensei about the pictures, and Ami wonders if she would let anything happen if he approaches her, only to ask if she can touch Uta. This further confuses her since she assumed Ami wasn't into girls and feels like she's messing with her now, which ends with Ami leaning in closer, seemingly intending to kiss her.
Uta gets away from Ami and, in a flustered state, tells Chika she and Ami almost kissed. Osako tells the two of them to focus on work.
