Background
Gossamer, God of Torment is one of many purebred Divines to reside in the Central Head Office. Destined to succeed from conception by Peerless God Apollo (Sorrowful Father), she has done nothing short of living up to her predecessors and has rapidly ascended the ranks to True Godhood. Subsisting on a diet of huntsman spiders and raw meat, Gossamer began to sprout her bladed wings at the tender age of 12. Every three years, she sheds them. And it is said that those who collect her old wings, if their hands are not immediately severed upon attempting to pick them up, are destined to live a life of good fortune.
Gossamer is one of many True Gods who partakes in recreational sex with hopeful followers. Her technical prowess in that area is unmatched, with many of her partners claiming to have felt unprecedented love that would be impossible to replicate within the arms of any other entity. She has been known to engage in multi-day threesomes with her mother, Haadiya, and her most devout believers under the light of the Full Moons to celebrate special occasions. But while her sexual activity is clearly documented according to code and regulations, Gossamer repeatedly states that she receives little enjoyment from such activities and would much prefer to work on her crafts instead.
Due to the sheltered nature of both her upbringing and training, not much is known about Gossamer's childhood apart from several recorded landmark events. Discovery and capture was not necessary due to her lineage. Gossamer shows little to no interest in experiencing what the laymen call "reality" and is content simply spreading her love as far as it will reach. It is widely believed that she will succeed her father in Peerless Godhood, with many of her officemates already theorizing what her Divine Title will be.
While Gossamer excels in multiple areas, she is able to perform several functions that have been deemed "essential" by others. Her breasts, when massaged, produce Black Milk- a fluid that's function changes depending on which flowers it is mixed with. For poison, mix Black Milk and hydrangeas. For an aphrodisiac, mix Black Milk and roses. Additional recipes are available in other resources, with all of which having the potential to bloom directly from Gossamer's head. Her bladed wings, in addition to serving as a good luck charm upon being shed, have been used as tools in both castration and circumcision for over one thousand years. It is even speculated that those circumcised by the Wings of Gossamer will grow up to be extremely well endowed and beloved by their preferred gender. Gossamer's robe also functions as a weighted blanket, but she is reluctant to let anyone else under it as she fears she would float away.
As a Messiah, Gossamer holds dominion over Heaven's Web, a realm gifted to her by Apollo, God of Dolor on her 19th birthday. Heaven's Web is a vast collection of spiderwebs (which Gossamer refers to as spidersilk hammocks) spun the Messiah herself. Each hammock is comprised of millions of paper-thin threads generated by Gossamer from special glands in the back of her neck. Those who have felt the touch of these webs compare them to something like fiberglass. It's said that upon resting in a spidersilk hammock, the threads will cut into your body just deep enough to prevent you from ever leaving. It is not known to be an unpleasant sensation, however, as each strand is coated in a hallucinogenic neurotoxin also excreted from Gossamer's neck glands.
Characteristics
Gossamer has earned a reputation among her peers as a bit of a matriarch. Her forgiving nature and gentle tone have become synonymous with shoulders to lean on or hands to handle. She typically keeps to herself in order to avoid getting roped into any of the Central Office's many cliques, but is beloved, envied, and sought after by all. Her kind, soothing voice has been known to put Lesser Gods to sleep and, consequentially, made her hesitant to respond to them at times as she does not want them to be reprimanded for loss of focus. She has been voted the Central region's White Princess on nineteen different occasions, but has refused to provide an acceptance speech for all of them.
