Onund, God of the Hole is a character in Lessons In Love.

Background

Onund was first discovered behind a fridge in northern China, covered in dust and dry white residue (likely from contact with old milk). At his behest, he was subsequently transported back to Xiaozhai Tiankeng so he could regain his power before committing to full ascension. Due to his status as a Newer God (as well as his resemblance to several other figures of divinity) he is one of the less popular divine figures, but is still hired somewhat frequently for issues concerning gluttony and lust. His role as a specialized entity, while not particularly desired by Onund himself, has earned him a larger than average social media following and a secure role in the Eastern Provincial Office.

Onund's abilities are best catered to those searching for an end to hunger or arousal as he has received no higher than a D ranking in assistance with all other Common Sins. Following a pledge to Onund, drinking from his Mouth will result in the immediate quenching of one's thirst as well as providing the feeling of a full stomach. Testimonials from followers have revealed that the taste of his fluids, while enjoyable, resemble something akin to slightly old (but not spoilt) milk. The fluid is known to coat one's tongue and its effects will last either indefinitely or until said follower encounters another Divine Entity.

If one wishes to use Onund as a vessel for the elimination of aggressive lust, they must simply insert their phallus into the Mouth of Onund. Due to the shape and nature of his vessel, it is not advised that females use Onund for this purpose. His cousin, Eske, God of Spit, would be better suited for those with female genitalia. It is believed that those who insert their phallus into the Mouth of Onund can "feel the world," but it's not currently known exactly what this means as those who have used Onund for such a purpose have lost the ability to speak.

Onund rewards his most dedicated followers with a half-tangible gift called "The Fruit Fly's Wing." This object, while in the possession of one worthy of wielding it, grants the ability to survey any one person at any given moment. If the wielder attempts to survey more than one person at once, the wing will sprout into a Greater Fruit Fly and immediately become aggressive. If the Fruit Fly is defeated, it will shrink back to a wing. If it is not, the wielder will be exiled from the Hole and lose contact with Onund, reverting any changes he may have made to that person.

Characteristics

Onund is not known for his charisma and has been labeled by his peers as a Reclusa (not to be confused with the western "recluse"). He keeps to himself for the most part and must be moved manually by lower-ranking associates as his abilities come at the cost of permanent immobility. Onund can be ill-tempered when underestimated, but has shown great understanding that respect takes time to develop and has dedicated himself to rewarding his most loyal of followers with bits and pieces of his holy essence.

Trivia

  • Contrary to popular belief, "The hole" is actually in reference to China's Xiaozhai Tiankeng or "the Heavenly Pit." Measuring a total of 2,172 feet (662 meters) deep and 170 million cubic yards in volume, it is the largest known sinkhole in the entire world.
