Touka talks to Ayane in class. She mentions that her family is no longer likely to buy the dojo that Ayane attends, and says that while her upbringing may cause her to make mistakes, she does not want to be on bad terms with anybody. Their discussion of Ayane's relationship with Sensei is interrupted when the strange girl whom Sensei has previously met enters the room. Sensei deduces that she must be Yasu Yasui, the new student. She introduces herself to the class as a messenger who will lead the girls to salvation, and talking about seeing in the dark, how many bodies there are in the room, whether Sensei is or isn't looking directly at her, and the light which gave birth to all things. She then introduces herself specifically to Touka, whose room she hopes to share — Touka is reluctant, but agrees when Yasu says that she has nowhere else but the streets.
