Maya tries to sneak out of school to meet Sensei and to confront Ami, and a narrator wants to use this to talk about jealousy. While Maya has reverted back to a state from before the time loop, she still contains her jealousy towards three specific girls, with one of those, Noriko approaching her at that moment.
Maya attempts to avoid talking to her, but she fails as Noriko asks her if she really intends to abandon her friends for her own selfish needs, asking not because she needs confirmation but because she hopes pointing out her bad behavior would make her rethink her actions – It fails. The narrator explains that both girls are similar in a lot of ways, including sharing mutual feelings of rivalry, respect and jealousy for each other, though both show it in different ways.
Noriko makes her disappointment over her lack of commitment know, but Maya reminds her that she also didn't commit to her promise to stay in the old district. However, Noriko justifies her breaking this promise by declaring it a meaningless childhood promise and how they didn't knew any better back then. This causes a flashback where Noriko asks Maya some probing and personal questions, something Maya tries to avoid and, once Noriko crosses a line, snaps at her and tells her to shut up, an action that is replicated in the present.
After Noriko makes assumptions about what happened in the past, Maya gets offended, insults her and leaves while wishing for her demise during death ball.
A short while later, Noriko joins Kirin on the soccer field and tells her that she was confronting a ghost from the past. After she reveals that Maya tries to find Sensei, Kirin suggest she does the same to finally beat her, but Noriko declines, knowing she can't compete with her in a fair fight, even if she is acting weird now.
Hearing this, Kirin tells her that Karin is also acting weird, but Noriko has a hard time believing this due to Karin being a pure and innocent girl. She wonders what happened to her to cause that change, but Kirin has no clue since Karin won't talk about it and only stays inside her room, only leaving for school. Noriko feels like she saw something really sad, like the death of an animal, but Kirin feels like something very personal happened to her.
As Kirin makes a random guess and tries to justify it to Noriko, Imani asks for everyone's attention.
