Sensei is on his way to the New Hope Cathedral as Touka informed him that Yasu has planned an event and wants him to join it. Apparently her handing out fliers stirred some interest in a few curious souls, though only from the class, not normal people.
Inside the church, Yasu greets those who came to her event, though she's visibly uncomfortable with it, mostly because she hasn't heard from Him in a long while and, out of desperation, has planned this event without his blessing. She still intends to teach her guests – namely Sensei, Touka, Nodoka and Sana – about Him and how they can earn his favor. While Nodoka is interested to learn about Him for personal reasons, Sana is already aware of some aspects of Yasu's belief and wants to deepen her understanding of it. Their talking infuriates Yasu
After she calms down again, Yasu tells them a story of the angel Zachariel. They warned people that they will suffer a cruel end if they won't listen to His words, but the people wouldn't listen, only for the angel's warning to become reality when they perish in a blaze, with Zachariel lamenting the tragedy from aeons away. This is why people need to listen to His will, because it will allow them to move on to the "hidden plane".
Curious, Nodoka wants to hear more about this plane, and Yasu explains that it's the next stage of life as people who die in this plane move on to the next, leaving behind their legacy which is carried on by successors until everyone has moved on to the next plane. Suddenly, Nodoka seems to have come to a realization regarding her own research and falls into a state similar, albeit less extreme, to her intense creative phase.
While Sensei is lost in his own thoughts, Kaori has entered the church, though she hasn't heard about Yasu's event and instead entered it to find another animal companion here. Yasu immediately approaches her and tries to convert her to her belief, but as she explains it, she notices something off in Kaori and, after laying a hand on her chest, she states there's something angry inside her and how she can't help Kaori yet.
Since the event took an awkward turn with this, Touka decides to preemptively end it.
