Synopsis

Sensei is walking the streets with Yasu and Touka, and he thinks about Yasu's sermon and how some of it relates to his current state. Touka points out how eerily quiet both of them have become since they left, which causes Yasu to start self-deprecating and Sensei to point out how they have that in common from the moment they met. Yasu recalls their very first meeting in this park, how He informed her of Sensei's importance and preaches about his purpose.

Touka tries to cut her off, but when she states how people can only pray when faced with dangers from the unknown, he claims they can also ignore it, calming praying and ignoring are just different approaches with the same end goal, but Yasu disagrees. Touka tries to intervene again to prevent a heated argument between them, but Sensei doesn't want to argue with her and instead wants her to stop so he can walk home in peace.

Yasu claims he will never be alone even if no one is physically around him and can only save himself by swimming – He needs to swim through the emerald waters of the fifth heaven in order to mend his broken state. Sensei rejects her solution, at which point they leave Touka behind, and when Yasu assumes he can't swim, he states he can but chooses not to. She then wants to know what he intends to do to shield those who defy protection, and he can't answer this, not because he can't say who he cares for, but because he can't keep everyone away without fearing that he will stop existing once he is.

Yasu wants him to explain it, and he tells her how he heard and experienced several times how he's connected to everyone and how it's his duty to further develop those connections and pass that ability on to those around him, even if it will be hard to fulfill since some of them won't find happiness unless they make the effort to find it themselves.

As they continue to talk, Sensei acknowledges how advancing the relationships he has with the girls in the way he already did might be the solution to his dilemma, but when Pareidolia asks if this means he will go back to the path he's intended to walk, he doesn't know and has to endure another lengthy argument with them on how he should stop thinking too much about it.

Now back home, he's unsure on what he did that day, even after finding a flier in his pocket and a strand of Yasu's hair on his sleeve, and decides to stop relying on his broken brain.
