This Event takes place in the following locations:
Sensei finds Noriko holding a box once he returns to the lobby. He assumes that this is the present she talked about and that it’s something with sentimental value. Noriko knows that he gave a present to Miku and asks if she liked it. He tells her that she did and didn’t liked it and shifts the conversation to the box, wanting to know if he can open it. He can after they go somewhere more private since she knows she’s going to cry and doesn’t want to be seen like that. He thinks she knows about the boiler room, but she doesn’t and, since it involves Kirin, doesn’t want to know, so she suggests the rooftop instead.
As they reach the rooftop, Sensei wonders how many girls he will see crying and, after stopping Noriko from stalling him, opens the box. It contains some sheets of paper and Noriko explains that these are a selection of letters Niki wrote after his disappearance. While he reads them, Noriko confesses that she found them in a closet a short while ago, how she’s eternally in second place for his affection, that she brought him the letters to give both a fair chance and how she intends to bring him every piece of his past she can find to help him remember.
Sensei finishes reading as Noriko starts crying. She is aware that he could write them off as fakes, but hopes that he keeps their feelings in mind. She tries to get his attention when he doesn’t answer her, but the world blacks out. An administrator explains that the server is undergoing maintenance and hands Sensei a survey. Once it’s filled out, the administrator prepares a care package for him.
Sensei finds himself in Niki’s old bedroom with a younger version of her and himself spending Christmas together by watching an anime. The scene ends with his younger self making Niki blush and offering to turn down the heat when she claims that she’s blushing due to the heat, which results in him seeing Sensei.
Sensei breaks out of his stasis as Noriko whispers in his ear. She reaffirms her love for him and how being eternally in second place always gives her a goal to work towards. He tells her that he remembered something and she hopes that it was a nice memory. Sensei’s phone rings and Noriko recommends him to answer that as she makes her exit. He vividly recalls the memory he saw, but has no idea why he saw this specific one. He gets a second message and finally decides to look who’s writing him. It’s Niki who is waiting for him in the lobby.
