Synopsis

Finding himself in the old district, Sensei decides to take his lesson from the other night to heart and go to a place he can't fall off from – the convenience store. However, he still feels like he will be in danger due to a certain pink-haired student and her ties to his past. As he reaches the store, he's greeted by Noriko, who informs him that she takes her break soon and wants him to join her. While Yumi is supposed to watch over the store during her absence, she ends up having to puke due to some of Noriko's comments during their idle chatter.

Now outside, Sensei and Noriko sit next to an open fire, and Noriko stares at Sensei, who looks away out of embarrassment. After her initial excitement dies down, she says that her sister revealed that she wants to move in with him, and he confirms it, explaining that giving Ami a mother figure is the best way to support her. She wonders what she has to do in order to be eligible for the role of Ami's mother, but quickly confesses that it's just her fooling around as she's fully aware that she can't fill that role, though it won't stop her from pursuing Sensei, which he already knew.

Noriko has another topic she needs to talk about, and Sensei agrees, even though he assumes it won't end well – His feelings turn out to be correct when Noriko reveals she noticed a change in Maya during their interaction in the last Dorm Wars, and while he's caught off-guard, he agrees to listen to her. She states how their relationship never took off as much as she liked, but there was at least some kind of progress as Maya's hatred for her started to mellow out a bit, but, all of a sudden, Maya turned back to her old self and treats her similarly to how it was on their first day. She wants to know if he noticed it too, which he confirms, and then wonders why no one else noticed her change, though Sensei tells her to talk with Ayane about it.

He then confesses that his sadness stems from him losing his Maya. He explains that the Maya he sees now is just a pale imitation of the one he knew, and when Noriko asks if Maya's situation is similar to his memory loss, he tells her it's not just similar but completely identical. Hearing this, Noriko thinks Maya's memories might return just like his do, and while he denies it as he suddenly feels like her situation might be different from his after all, she encourages him to give it a try. Noriko also tells him that this will give him a taste of how she and her sister felt when he disappeared for years, and while she seems to notice an inconsistency in their timeline, she quickly moves past it.

She encourages him to follow that road he's walking on, because, while it will suck to walk it, he will see a nice scenery on the way, and returns back to her shift after this advice. Sensei, however, stays behind and doesn't know how he should feel about this, because while it gives him some hope about his current situation, he has no idea how to bring his Maya back or what will happen if she breaks again.
