After a day of actually having to do his job, Sensei decides to blow his afternoon off by spending time at the archery range with the Kyūdō club. As he makes his way along the path, he runs into Kirin, who's leaving early due to not being in the mood. Sensei quips how characteristic that is for her, considering her previous relationship with the soccer team, but Kirin insists this time is different. With some more prying, Sensei manages to get her to confess that the real reason she's leaving early is because of Uta's unexpected skill in the hobby and that she wanted to practice alone in the dorms. However, realizing she has a rare opportunity, she invites Sensei along with her to a nearby arcade without the usual pretense.
Now at the arcade, Sensei watches as Kirin repeatedly fails to win a prize from a crane machine. She tries to rope him into helping, but he refuses, not wanting to draw attention to the two of them. Kirin doesn't mind the idea, feeling it'd give her a reputation beyond "Karin's Sister". The two are suddenly interrupted by Karin herself showing up, having been let out of her club early due to another case of accidental manslaughter. She's surprised to see the two of them hanging out, with Kirin quickly coming up with a lie on the spot before pushing her sister to leave the two of them alone. Sensei is confused why Kirin wouldn't hang out with her sister instead, she explains that that with Sensei's time so evenly divided between everyone else, an opportunity to spend time alone together is rare.
Kirin admits that what Sensei said the other night was true – She isn't as open as she's been telling herself, and she wants to spend more time with him without hiding that fact. Sensei's caught off-guard by this casual confession, but is fine with it despite now having mixed feelings on how to deal with her.
Wanting another opportunity to prove herself, Kirin makes plans with Sensei for the following night.
